1- First, you need to go to Twitter Goodies page, here you can find Tweet Buttons and Widgets and Buttons. We are going to be using a widget so click on Widgets. 2- Once you are in the Widgets section select My Website and choose Profile Widget. 3- In Customize Your Profile Widget, follow the next steps – they are pretty easy — . 4- In Settings just type your Twitter username. 5- Next, in Preferences select your options. Tip: choose wisely in the Preferences section to display a nice Twitter feed in your WordPress blog sidebar. For example, you could opt not to show timestamps with the option Show Timestamps? This could make your tweets look old or people could think that you don’t tweet much, hashtags may not be really necessary to display and it will make your tweets look cleaner, to disable this option just leave Show hashtags? unchecked. Oh! There you also have the option Show Avatars? You already have your avatar displaying in the top of the widget next to your Twitter username, so to make the tweets even more cleaner you can just leave this option unchecked as well. Ultimately is your decision, I just wanted to share some of my recommendations.
6- Finish choosing your options.
Poll for new results? Include Scrollbar? Behavior. And Number of Tweets.
7- Now, go to customize the Appearance of your widget. Tip: Choose colors that blend with your website, it will look more professional.
8- When you are done, click the Test settings button to test all your customization, which will be display to the right side of page. 9- Click Finish & Grab Code button and select and copy the code generated. Just in case, it is a good idea to save your code in a text file.
10- Now that you have the code, login to your WordPress website. 11- Browse to the Widgets section.
12- Grab Text widget and place it in the sidebar to activate it. 13- Open the Text widget and paste the code that you grabbed from Twitter’s website. If you are running WordPress 3.0 or later, you could opt to write a title for the widget in the Tittle: field, or not.
14- Click Save, now go to your website, refresh the page and Twitter widget should now be working with little code and not programming skills need it! I hope this How to… was useful for you.
