In a new article at Blogging Windows, the company confirms that after 10 months of releasing a game changer operating system, the software giant is releasing on August 27th, Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 to OEMs. The new update if the first of many to come in the new model of yearly releases, which delivers bug fixes and new features, something that was never done by the company. In this new version of the OS users will see significant changes such as the Start button, a streamlined Start screen with new tile sizes, ability to uninstall multiple apps with one click, boot to desktop option, new updated Windows 8 apps and a lot more....

According to the company next year all versions of Windows will streamline into one single converged operating system for all screen sizes, which also means that Redmond will ax Windows RT. Tough a tablet version of Windows will continue to exit, but under the Windows Phone umbrella, which may or may not get renamed to something else, such as “Windows Mobile”. Windows RT was supposed to be the Apple’s version of iOS, but for Windows tablets....

At broad, Groove will remain almost identical to Xbox Music, but the company will continue to update it in the regular basis. If you’ve been using the Xbox Music app in Windows 10, then you already have seen what to expect on Groove when Microsoft launches Windows 10 on July 29th. On Xbox Music, Microsoft killed off the free music streaming feature, and that will continue to be the case with Groove....

On the Office Insider Release Notes website, the company (via Windows Latest) has posted a screenshot that reveals a first look at the new Outlook app for Windows 10. The image was posted to showcase the new “Org Explorer” app for Outlook. However, it also shows parts of the new “One Outlook” app. For instance, the screenshot reveals a new look with rounded corners, new iconography that matches the new icons that Microsoft is pushing on Windows 10 with the Sun Valley update, and an updated title bar that also features quick action buttons, a search box, and additional padding....

According to The Verge, this could be the event for Microsoft to unveil project “Centaurus,” which is a form factor device featuring a dual-screen, and it’s expected to arrive sometime in 2020. In addition, during the press event, the company is likely to introduce hardware refresh for existing devices. This means that Microsoft could introduce the Surface Pro 7, which is rumored to come with Intel as well as with Qualcomm processors variants....
