The news comes days after the company revealed a new education program to sell Surface RT to schools for as low as $199, and after tablets has been flying off the shelves during the Tech-Ed and Worldwide Partner conferences because of the “appreciation” discounts. Although part of any sale marketing campaign involves cutting prices, Microsoft has recently been suggesting its plan to refresh its line of Surface RT and Surface Pro models....

This is an expected, but unexpected move as the company has many times firmly stated that the Kinect sensor is an essential part of Xbox One that has to ship with every console. But now it seems that Microsoft is having a change of heart as a result of customer’s feedback. “We’ve also heard from people they just like to play games with the controller in their hands,” Phil Spencer states in a new post at Xbox Wire....

During this event, it’s expected that the company will unveil the Surface Book 4, which may get a new name. According to Window Central, this new device that will include a non-detachable 14-inch display could be called “Surface Laptop Pro.” Also, as previous leaks have shown, Microsoft may be planning to unveil the new version of the Android-based dual-screen device, the Surface Duo 2. Alongside these devices, the company may even introduce the Surface Pro 8 and Surface Go 3....

Basically this means that starting October 30, 2013, chances are that you won’t be able to buy the operating system in your local retailer. But you’ll be able to buy a new PC preinstalled with Windows 7 as the new “end of sales” for the OS on new PCs now reads “to be determined”. “We have yet to determine the ‘end of sales’ date for PCs with Windows 7 preinstalled,” — Microsoft states....

Moving forward to meet with the demand of Cloud services, the software maker, according to the article, is about to change the upload limit to unlimited for photos and documents. This doesn’t mean the 25GB limit will go away, the storage limit will still there, but only will apply for other types of files that users may upload, e....

Although the regular app has always worked on ARM64 devices, it required emulation, which often doesn’t work as expected and makes the experience feel sluggish. However, the Spotify app now runs natively on ARM processors, such as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon found in the Surface Pro X tablet. The current beta version is 1.1.86.857, and you can download it directly from the Spotify servers. If you have been using the regular version, you will need to uninstall the app before you can install the ARM-native application....

Although this new update is consider out-of-date, it is the second firmware Microsoft is making available for Surface Pro 3. According to the company the tablet gets the following improvements: Surface Pro UEFI update (v3.11.250.0) enhances the system stability, increases the reliability of the graphics display performance, and adds a status bar to the experience when applying future System Firmware Updates. Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware update (v38.7.50.0) increases the reliability of sleep state transitions with a Surface Pro 3 Docking Station connected....

On February, Surface Pro 2 gets improvements for better display calibration, fixes for the tablet ignoring hibernation and battery percentage incorrectly reporting. Also today’s update resolves issue where Surface would rest upon repeated Cover attach/detach, On Screen Keyboard unexpectedly appears even though the Cover is attached. And resolves the issues where the Cover isn’t detected after wake up for sleep. Touch Cover 2 and Type Cover 2 were updated to improve two-finger touchpad gestures....
