Recently, a firmware for Surface Pro 4 devices was made available, and soon after the release a number of users began to report issues with the Windows Hello camera. Although, it’s not clear what actually caused the problem, a report from The Inquirer suggested that a driver included with the July firmware was the root of the issue, and simply rolling it back to its previous version resolved the issue....

Although the company has built a ARM-based tablet before, the one inside the Surface Pro X there’s the new Microsoft SQ1 processor, which is a custom version of an ARM processor that Microsoft has built in partnership with Qualcomm. Technically, you’re getting a smartphone processor inside of a tablet that gives you the benefits of a phone on a computer. Starting with build 22598, Windows 11 comes with an updated version of the redesigned Task Manager that introduces at least five new keyboard shortcuts, including: Alt + E – ends the selected process. Alt + N – opens the dialog to run a new task. Alt + V – turns “Efficiency Mode” on or off. Ctrl + Tab – Cycles through the tabs in the navigation area. Ctrl + Shift + Tab – Cycles through the tabs in the navigation area in reverse....

The software giant introduced a new ring of update for Insiders. Now users will have the option to test new flight with the “Release Preview”, in addition to the Slow and Fast rings. Windows 10 build 19042.782 (KB4598291) rolled out in the Release Preview and Beta Channels with the upcoming fixes and improvements coming in February for version 20H2....

These graphics drivers are also referred as “Universal Windows Drivers” (UWD), they will replace the Intel Graphics drivers, which now are just referred as “legacy” drivers, and they’re optimized for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP), which is a requirement starting with the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809). The legacy drivers will continue to exist, and you can still use them, but in order to revert, you’ll have to uninstall the current driver from the “Apps & features” settings page, and then, you need to install the legacy driver manually....

For instance, we have seen this with the rollout of Windows 10 version 2004 where many users reported installation problems, issues with apps after the upgrade, problems with drivers, and the update even broke Storage Spaces causing data loss in some cases. Also, after the release, cumulative updates that were supposed address many of the issues, ended up introducing more problems. The November 2019 Update didn’t have a lot of problems because it was a small release available as a cumulative update that didn’t require reinstallation....

Microsoft is also introducing “Tablet mode” (Continuum) in Windows 10 that allows users to move seamlessly from a traditional windowed to a full-screen, optimized for touch, environment. The Start menu looks similar to the menu users that were familiar in Windows 7, but the new menu also has a modern part similar to the Start screen. The Start menu in Windows 10 includes two sizes: the default regular size and users can also click the top-right “Expand” button on the top-right corner to make the menu full screen, which Windows 8 users will find familiar to the now gone Start screen....

You can still use version 21H1, but Microsoft no longer offers support for this release, meaning that devices running this version will no longer receive security and quality updates or support moving forward. If you have a computer still using the May 2021 Update, the system will soon upgrade automatically to the latest version, which in this case will be version 22H2 (Windows 10 2022 Update), but you can always upgrade manually....

Originally, the next feature update was expected to be “version 21H1,” because it was scheduled for the first half of 2021. However, there has been rumors about the company may be planning to change the release schedule to the second half of 2021, which means that the next feature update may be known as “version 21H2.” The reason behind the change is that Microsoft is looking into releasing only one major update per year, instead of two to free up engineers to also focus on Windows 10X....

While the company is proactively working to meet its deadline, there could always be something that could cause a delay, as such the schedule could change in the future. However, the original release date of Windows 10 was on July 29th, it’s only logical to expect the “Anniversary Update” to release the same day, which in 2016 is a Friday.
